Today we talked about our project goals and what the reason is for amplifying methylated DNA. Other procedures already exist to detect methylation patterns - Amp PCR and Bisulfate PCR. We decided that we want to amplify DNA that we already know is methylated so that we can transform it into a cell and see how it will behave in a cell. This is same reason why we amplify unmethylated DNA is to transform it and see how it behaves.
